THE CITY OF CHEYENNE BUILDING DIVISION IS NOW 100% ONLINE FOR ALL LICENSES AND PERMITS. APPLICATIONS AND INSPECTIONS ARE APPLIED FOR THROUGH THE OPENGOV PORTAL, PLEASE SEE LINK BELOW.

Each company is required to register their Individual Qualified Supervisor as well. Company licenses come ONLY in pairs you will need a Company license AND an Individual Qualified Supervisor license.

PUBLIC RECORDS THROUGH OUR ONLINE PORTALS:

For permits applied for after June 12, 2025; go to OpenGov and click on 'Search' for public records regarding Building permits. Enter the address or Parcel ID Number under 'Locations' to search by address. You may also search for Contractor licensing

For permits applied for between 2007 and June 11, 2025 go to 'Citizens Access' for permit and licensing information. Click on 'Public Access' on the top left to access the portal.

Building Permitting & Licensing Division issues construction related permits and provides plan review and inspection services with regard to building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical construction in the City limits of Cheyenne. The primary goal is to protect the public health and safety through the administration and enforcement of the adopted building and fire codes.  Building & Safety Division is made up of a Chief Building Official, inspection staff, and office support specialist staff. Building Permitting & Licensing Division provides the primary staff support for the Building Code Board of Appeals and the Contractor Licensing Board.
