Note to Insurance Companies looking for Building permit records: Go to OpenGov and click on 'Search' for public records regarding Building permits. Enter the address under 'Locations' to search by address.

Building Permitting & Licensing issues construction related permits and provides plan review and inspection services with regard to building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical construction in the City of Cheyenne. The primary goal is to protect the public health and safety through the administration and enforcement of the adopted building and fire codes.  Building & Safety Division is made up of a Chief Building Official, inspection staff, and office support specialist staff. Building Permitting & Licensing provides the primary staff support for the Building Code Board of Appeals and Contractor Licensing Board.
