The City of Cheyenne Municipal Building (2101 O’Neil Ave.) is currently closed. The Building Division, MPO, and Planning & Development are available in-person at the U.S. Bank Building (2020 Carey Ave.). City Clerk & Human Resources are available in-person at the Botanic Gardens (710 S. Lions Park Dr.).All departments are available by phone and e-mail using their regular contact information.
The Building Department has launched their online license & permit portal. Company Contractors can find their claim code below to activate their online account, scroll down to Licenses and Permits then click on Building Safety Division – Contractor Licensing then follow the directions listed. An online account will be required to apply for permits with the Building Department.
The Contractor Licensing Board hereby provides of its intent to amend its rules and regulations. The purpose of the amendments is to effectuate the Governing Body's intent under Ordinance #4592 (Nov. 16, 2024).
Interested persons may present their views on the proposed rulemaking, in writing, to the Contractor Licensing Board, Attn: Antony Pomerleau, at 2101 O'Neil Ave. Rm 202, Cheyenne, WY 82001, no later than forty-five (45) days following date of this notice. The next Contractor Licensing Board meeting will be on Monday November 10th at 9:00am at 2801 House Avenue in the LCSD #1 Boardroom. A public hearing will be set following the 45-day period if requested by 25 or more persons, a governmental subdivision, or by an association having not less than 25 members.

Building Permitting & Licensing issues construction related permits and provides plan review and inspection services with regard to building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical construction in the City of Cheyenne. The primary goal is to protect the public health and safety through the administration and enforcement of the adopted building and fire codes. Building & Safety Division is made up of a Chief Building Official, inspection staff, and office support specialist staff. Building Permitting & Licensing provides the primary staff support for the Building Code Board of Appeals and Contractor Licensing Board.
