City offices including Transit will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th in observation of Veterans Day. Residential trash, recycling, and yard waste pickups will slide forward one day beginning on Tuesday (Tuesday pickups move to Wednesday, Wednesday pickups move to Thursday, Thursday pickups move to Friday). The City of Cheyenne Municipal Building (2101 O’Neil Ave.) is currently closed. The Building Division, MPO, and Planning & Development are available in-person at the U.S. Bank Building (2020 Carey Ave.). City Clerk & Human Resources are available in-person at the Botanic Gardens (710 S. Lions Park Dr.).All departments are available by phone and e-mail using their regular contact information.
The Building Department has launched their online license & permit portal. Company Contractors can find their claim code below to activate their online account, scroll down to Licenses and Permits then click on Building Safety Division – Contractor Licensing then follow the directions listed. An online account will be required to apply for permits with the Building Department.

CHEYENNE - The City of Cheyenne has announced the return of acceptable glass and plastic recyclable materials. The City is now able to recycle clear, brown, and green food grade glass as well as plastics #4 (LDPE) and #5 (PP). The only non-acceptable plastic #5 recyclable material are clamshell food cartons; commonly used for takeout food.
The addition of food grade glass and #4 and #5 plastics is due to changing market conditions that make them economically feasible to recycle.
All recyclables must be rinsed out, dry, empty, and loose (not bagged) before being placed in your blue bin container. Failure to meet these requirements places an entire load of otherwise acceptable recyclable material at risk for contamination. If contaminated, the entire recycle load is placed in the City’s landfill.
