Municipal Referendum Petition Review
A municipal referendum petition was submitted on August 7, 2026. The petition seeks to overturn a recent annexation ordinance involving a parcel of just under 3,460 acres owned by Microsoft, located in the southeastern part of the community.
During the week of October 12th, staff continued the detailed review and verification of petition signatures. As of October 16th, staff have spent approximately 89 hours reviewing and verifying signatures and have reviewed 213 petition pages (3156 signatures), representing approximately 94% of the total petition pages.
The review and verification process is ongoing. Additional updates will be provided as the review progresses.
