Municipal Referendum Petition Review
A municipal referendum petition was submitted on August 7, 2026. The petition seeks to overturn a recent annexation ordinance involving a parcel of just under 3,460 acres owned by Microsoft, located in the southeastern part of the community.
During the week of August 31st, staff continued the detailed review and verification of petition signatures. As of September 4th, staff have spent approximately 34 hours reviewing and verifying signatures and have reviewed 80 petition pages (1196 signatures), representing approximately 35% of the total petition pages.
The review and verification process is ongoing. Additional updates will be provided as the review progresses.
