Municipal Referendum Petition Review
A municipal referendum petition was submitted on August 7, 2026. The petition seeks to overturn a recent annexation ordinance involving a parcel of just under 3,460 acres owned by Microsoft, located in the southeastern part of the community.
During the week of September 21st, staff continued the detailed review and verification of petition signatures. As of September 25th, staff have spent approximately 58 hours reviewing and verifying signatures and have reviewed 128 petition pages (1912 signatures), representing approximately 57% of the total petition pages.
The review and verification process is ongoing. Additional updates will be provided as the review progresses.
