Code Enforcement

The mission of Code Enforcement is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of our community members by encouraging compliance with the City of Cheyenne Municipal Code; to enhance the appearance of neighborhoods and business districts to prevent blight, protect property values and enhance economic conditions.  It is our goal to obtain voluntarily compliance, whenever possible, by administering a fair and unbiased enforcement program.

When to contact Code Compliance

Code Compliance is responsible for:

  • Private Property Non-Compliant Vehicles
  • Junk & Non-Compliant Campers, RVs (Occupied/Lived-In)
  • Non-Compliant Vehicles on City Property or Utility Easements
  • Vagrancy & Graffiti
  • Private Property Weeds/Grass, Junk/Trash
  • Private Property Snow & Ice (24 hours after end of storm)

When to contact the Cheyenne Police Department:

The Cheyenne Police Department is responsible for:

  • On-Street Vehicles
  • Oversized Vehicles & Trailers
  • Parking Related Calls
  • Illegal Dumps
  • Noise Complaints
  • After hours Emergency Animal Control (between hours of 6 p.m. – 8 a.m.)
