Noxious Weed Control
Noxious Weed Control
The state of Wyoming maintains a list of plant species that are determined to be a significant threat to the health of people, the environment, or economy and aims to reduce or eliminate these species where possible. A list of these species, along with a list of Laramie County designated species, can be found at the
Laramie County Weed and Pest Website. Cheyenne Weed and Pest takes on the responsibility of tracking and reducing these pests on City owned property.
Biological Control
Weed and Pest uses a variety of insect and microbial pests to reduce undesirable plant species within the City. These include flea beetles for Leafy Spurge and rust fungi for Canada Thistle.
Chemical Control
When necessary, Weed and Pest will use chemical herbicides to control pest populations that are too large or too hearty for other methods.
