Purpose:
The Mayor's Youth Council provides youth an opportunity to learn about government at the level closest to the people and to weigh in on policies affecting young people in our community. High School youth between the ages of 14 and 18 are selected to serve on the council for one school calendar year. Members have been an integral part of the city's planning efforts and have been actively engaged in planning projects that include Plan Cheyenne and the MPO Traffic Safety Summit, Youth Activity Center at the David R. Romero South Cheyenne Community Park and Brimmer Skate Park.
