This month’s Council Corner features significant Council actions over the previous month and a look ahead to what may be on the docket in August.
During July 2026, Council’s actions included:
All annexations and zoning requests were initiated by the property owners.
In addition, a ribbon cutting for the opening of the Belvoir Ranch was held on July 1 and a plaque remembering Councilman Scott Roybal and his dedication to the Ranch was unveiled.
Council will hold work sessions on Aug. 14 to hear about Hanwha Energy on the Belvoir Ranch and on Aug. 28 to review the progress on the Cox Ranch Annexation.
Council would like to remind residents of Council & Coffee events during the month of August: Ward 1 on Aug. 1 at the Pioneer Park Center (1331 Talbot Ct.) from 9 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and Ward 3 on Aug. 15 at Dazbog Coffee (3911 E. Pershing Avenue) from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Additional Meeting Types
All meetings are held in City Council Chambers, Municipal Building (2101 O’Neil Avenue). Regular Council meetings and work sessions are livestreamed via Zoom, Facebook and YouTube. Recordings of all meetings are available via the City’s website on the City’s YouTube page.
