The Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority (DDA), in partnership with the City of Cheyenne, is encouraging downtown commercial property owners to apply for the Sidewalk 50-50 Improvement Program by Feb. 1, 2026, to be considered for spring sidewalk repairs.
The program focuses on addressing sidewalk trip hazards and improving safety and mobility throughout Downtown Cheyenne. The DDA and the City’s 1% Construction Office coordinate contractor sourcing, scheduling, and project logistics, making the repair process simpler for participating property owners.
Under the program, the DDA covers 50% of eligible repair costs, while property owners are responsible for the remaining 50% plus a 10% contingency. This program is not suitable for sidewalks requiring extensive basement-related repairs. Eligible sidewalks must present a tripping hazard and be located within the DDA District. Funding is limited and not guaranteed.
