Sanitation truck in action

Following the high wind event on March 12, the Cheyenne Sanitation Division is offering the following services for residents:

Residents with Thursday Collection

  • For residents who typically have trash and recycling collection on Thursdays, the Sanitation Division will pick up extra bags of trash outside of containers during collection on Thursday, March 19, due to suspension of service during the wind event. All trash must be bagged and yard waste, including limbs and branches, will not be accepted as trash.
  • Residents with Thursday pickups may bring their city trash container or up to five 35-gallon bags of trash to the Transfer Station (220 N College Dr.). The Landfill (1461 Happy Jack Road) will also be accepting up to five 35-gallon bags. Residents should bring proof of address to verify they are a Thursday pickup. Recycling will also be accepted at the Transfer Station if a resident’s recycling day was March 12, 2026 (Thursday Pickups/Yellow Week).
  • Residents may call in an extra pickup for an additional fee if they choose not to utilize the above services.

All Residents

Residents who are missing any containers or who have found a container should call the Sanitation Division 307-637-6440 option 0. The Division can supply residents with container numbers or schedule a time to locate containers.
