The City of Cheyenne is reminding residents to secure trash and sanitation containers on collection days, particularly when high winds are forecast.
The City has received complaints about unsecured containers being blown over and scattering contents. Residents are responsible for securing containers until pickup by the Sanitation Division.
All trash is required to be bagged. For recycling containers, latches are available for purchase. To request a latch, contact the Sanitation Division at 307-637-6440.
If containers cannot be secured during wind events, residents are asked to wait to place containers until their next scheduled collection to help reduce the risk of containers blowing over.
