Parking striping in Cheyenne.

The next phase of the parking striping pilot program in downtown Cheyenne is tentatively expected to begin the first week of September, weather permitting.

Work is planned to begin on Warren Avenue and move west, with striping completed from north to south on each street. This work follows Phase 1 of the pilot program that was completed last year. The day-to-day location of the work will vary based on weather conditions and contractor availability. A map of the affected area is attached to this press release.

Notices will be placed on affected streets before striping takes place. On days when striping occurs, parking will be prohibited on those streets while work is completed.

Striping of parking spaces, in particular parallel spaces, is intended to increase visibility of spaces and maximize the number of available spaces. Survey data following Phase 1 indicated strong support of additional striping downtown and that the project made parallel parking and diagonal parking easier.
