Cheyenne residents are encouraged to enjoy the City’s parks and Greenway amenities this Sunday, March 30, as part of National Take a Walk in the Park Day.
“Visiting Cheyenne’s parks and Greenway can be a calming and therapeutic way to relax,” said Jeanie Shrednik, the parks and Greenway planner for the City. “There are some added benefits to walking outdoors, like exposure to sunshine and Vitamin D, deep breaths of fresh air, and it’s free – no memberships or special equipment is needed.”
The City boasts 47 miles of Greenway in and around Cheyenne and a number of parks from large facilities like Lions and Holliday parks to smaller neighborhood parks scattered around the city.
“Take a Walk in the Park Day can also be a way for folks to explore a new park in a different part of town,” Shrednik said. “The City continues to update and upgrade our recreation amenities, like the new Greenway/U.S. 30 underpass that opened last year.”
