Published on May 30, 2025
Ward I and Ward III City Council members are sponsoring a free disposal day for residents of those wards at the Sanitation Division Transfer Station on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 7, from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Residents of Ward I and Ward III must enter through the public entrance, show identification (driver’s license, etc.) and certify the material is their personal household waste to receive the free disposal. Funds are limited and free disposal will stop when funds are expended. Gates will close on time as scheduled.
Concrete, rock, asphalt, dirt, railroad ties, shingles, yard waste, or similar large heavy items that may damage equipment will not be accepted.
Disposal is self-service at the Transfer Station. Customers must be able to unload/lift their waste independently over safety rails into waste trailers located on the lower level. Sanitation employees will not help unload vehicles or trailers. Small children are prohibited from being outside a vehicle in the loading area.
Please do not bring electronic waste or household hazardous waste during this free disposal period. These items are always accepted free of charge from residents at the Sanitation Transfer Station.
The Sanitation Division reminds residents wait times could vary and to follow all directions from Transfer Station staff.
For more information, contact the Sanitation Division at 637-6440. The Transfer Station is located at 220 N. College Drive.
