City offices including Transit will be closed on Friday, June 19th for the Juneteenth holiday. There will be no changes to residential, trash, recycle or yard waste pickups this week. There will also be no changes to commercial pickups on Friday, June 19, but pickups scheduled for Saturday, June 20, will be collected on Friday. See link below for City office closure information.
In observance of America 250, July 4 celebrations are scheduled throughout the day on Saturday, July 4, 2026.Fireworks will be held at the Wyoming State Capitol this year. There will not be fireworks at Frontier Park.

The Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority will host two public outreach sessions this week for residents, businesses, and visitors to learn about the Downtown Plan of Development Update and provide feedback.
This round of outreach follows a survey conducted earlier this year. The DDA will share results of that survey and share how that information will be incorporated into the next step of the Plan of Development process.

The Downtown Plan of Development Update is a 12-18 month process that will result in a new vision for the future of downtown, guiding policies and key implementation action items for achieving the vision. The plan will provide a blueprint for strategies that promote economic vitality and increase public activities, while enhancing the historic western charm of Downtown Cheyenne.
