City to host informational panel on data centers
Published on May 29, 2026
The City of Cheyenne will host an informational panel on data centers and local data center development next week, and residents are encouraged to submit questions and attend the event.
The panel will be Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cheyenne Civic Center. There is no cost to attend and tickets are not required.
Representatives from the City of Cheyenne, Cheyenne LEADS, Black Hills Energy, the Board of Public Utilities, and local data centers will be on hand to answer residents’ questions about how data centers are developed and their relation to local planning efforts and utilities.
Advance questions will be accepted online at http://connect.cheyennecity.org/datacenterpanel until Wednesday, June 3, at noon. These questions will be used for the discussion. If time allows, questions will be accepted from the audience at the event.
“We understand that we have residents who are concerned about data center development as well as residents who favor these projects,” Mayor Patrick Collins said. “We want to provide an opportunity for anyone in the community to come, ask questions, share their concerns, and learn about how these projects happen in the city.”
The panel discussion will be recorded and available on the City’s YouTube page after the event.
