City releases proposed FY 2027 budget; Council hearings scheduled
Published on May 01, 2026
The City of Cheyenne has released its proposed Fiscal Year 2027 budget and City Council will hold several budget-related meetings over the next two months.
The $162 million budget covers all financial aspects of the City, including the general fund, permanent fund, fiduciary fund, special revenue funds, proprietary funds, and capital projects funds. The budget is structurally balanced and reflects revenue projections for the upcoming fiscal year.
“I am proud of the hard work completed by our City staff in preparing this document, led by City Treasurer Robin Lockman and her team,” Mayor Patrick Collins said in this year’s budget message. “They have developed a clear and informative budget narrative that explains both where our revenues come from and how the City spends these funds. Cheyenne is fortunate to have such a dedicated team of professionals serving our residents.”
The proposed budget now goes to City Council, where it will be discussed at work sessions, Committee of the Whole meetings, and council meetings. A public hearing about the budget will be held at the June 8 council meeting. The meeting schedule is as follows:
