The City of Cheyenne has created the Active Transportation Advisory Committee to help influence active modes of transportation in Cheyenne, and applications are being accepted to participate on the committee.

Members of the ATAC will help advise the City on active modes of transportation, including biking and walking; provide feedback on on-street bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure; provide input on transportation projects and plans; and participate in public education and community engagement efforts. The Greater Cheyenne Greenway will not fall under the ATAC’s scope, but the committee may analyze connections to the Greenway system from surface streets.

The committee is expected to initially meet bi-monthly and will evaluate its meeting schedule as needed. The City’s Planning Department will serve as the staff contact for the committee.

The City is seeking 5-7 citizen community members to serve on the committee. Prospective applicants are encouraged to have a background or interest in bicycling, walking, or other multi-modal forms of transportation.

The ATAC is being created to address community feedback on the City’s on-street bicycle and pedestrian network. The committee is also a recommendation in the City’s Bicycle Master Plan.

Interested residents can obtain applications for the board at www.cheyennecity.org/boards. Applications are due Friday, June 6, 2025, at 5 p.m. and applicants must be city residents.
