The City of Cheyenne has completed a number of improvements to the Dutcher Baseball Complex and the City’s Community Recreation and Events Department hosted a ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the work on Saturday, May 2.

The improvements include:

  • New lighting on the North and South fields and for the Monjares and Lansing fields;
  • Construction of a new restroom and concession building;
  • New concrete connecting the North and South fields;
  • Freshly painted backstops with new fabric;
  • New bleachers; and
  • Upgraded electrical service to scoreboards and irrigation systems.

“Our goal is to maximize the use and quality of all our community spaces, and these upgrades are a strong reflection of that commitment,” said Jason Sanchez, the director of the Community Recreation and Events Department.

The Dutcher Baseball Complex is a 30-acre facility located off Converse Avenue near Dell Range Boulevard and consists of five ballfields that primarily serve youth sports.

Improvements at Dutcher totaled just under $2.2 million and were funded through grants, matching funds, lottery funds, community facility fees, and other sources. The improvements also addressed several needs outlined in the City’s 2025 Parks and Greenway Master Plan and reflect public input from that process.
