City announces sanitation and facility schedule for Thanksgiving week

Several City facilities and offices will have modified schedules for the Thanksgiving holiday:

City Offices

City offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24

Sanitation/Trash and Recycle Schedule

Residents who would typically have trash and recycle pickup on Thursday, Nov. 23, will instead have pickup on Saturday, Nov. 25. Please have containers out by 6 a.m.

Trash and Recycle pick-up will remain as scheduled for Friday, Nov. 24.

The Solid Waste Transfer Station (220 N. College Drive), Household Hazardous Waste (220 N. College Drive), and Happy Jack Landfill will close to observe Thanksgiving Day and will reopen Friday, Nov. 24, 2023.

The Compost Facility (3714 Windmill Rd.) will be closed Nov. 23 and 24 and will reopen Saturday, Nov. 25.

The Sanitation Division office will be closed Nov. 23 and 24 and will reopen Monday, Nov. 27.

Cheyenne Transit Program

Cheyenne Transit Program offices will be closed Nov. 23 and 24 and buses will not run.

Cheyenne Botanic Gardens

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens and the Paul Smith Childrens’ Village will be closed Nov. 19-24 for cleaning and repairs and the Thanksgiving holiday. The facilities will reopen on Saturday, Nov. 25.

Cheyenne Aquatic Center

The Cheyenne Aquatic Center will be closed on Nov. 23 (Thanksgiving) and will be open Nov. 22 and Nov. 24 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Patrons should check with Aquatic Center website (www.cheyenneaquatics.com) for open swim times.

Cheyenne Ice & Events Center

The Cheyenne Ice and Events Center will be closed on Nov. 23 (Thanksgiving) and will be open on Nov. 24 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Patrons should check the Ice and Events Center website (www.cheyenneiceandevents.com) for public skating and other scheduled events.
