City announces sanitation and facility schedule for Thanksgiving 2025

Several City facilities and offices will have modified schedules for the Thanksgiving holiday.

City Offices

City offices will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28.

Sanitation/Trash and Recycling Schedule

Residential trash and recycling pickups that are typically scheduled for Thursday will move to Friday, Nov. 28. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday pickups will remain as scheduled.

The Solid Waste Transfer Station (220 N. College Drive), Happy Jack Landfill, Compost Facility (3714 Windmill Road), and Household Hazardous Waste (220 N. College Drive) will be closed on Thanksgiving and reopen Friday, Nov. 28.

The Sanitation Division office will be closed in line with other City offices on Thursday and Friday.

Residents should remember to keep recycling unbagged; break down boxes cut to 2’ by 2’; bag all trash to prevent it blowing out of containers and the landfill; and to not place branches, bags, or tumbleweeds in yard waste containers.

Cheyenne Transit Program

Cheyenne Transit Program offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27-28. Buses will not run.

Cheyenne Botanic Gardens

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens Grand Conservatory and the Paul Smith Children’s Village is closed for regular maintenance and preparation for the Conservatory of Lights. The Gardens will reopen on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m. After reopening, the Gardens will resume its normal schedule of Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cheyenne Aquatic Center

The Cheyenne Aquatic Center will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27-28. Patrons should check the Aquatic Center website (www.cheyenneaquatics.com) for more information.

BEAST Facility

The BEAST Facility will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27-28. Patrons should check the Cheyenne Rec facility page (https://cheyennerec.org/facility-rentals-city-rentals/) for more information.

Cheyenne Ice & Events Center

The Cheyenne Ice and Events Center will be closed Thanksgiving Day and reopen Friday, Nov. 28. Patrons should check the Ice and Events Center website (www.cheyenneiceandevents.com) for public skating and other scheduled events.

City Golf Courses

The Airport Golf Course and Kingham Prairie View Golf Course will be closed Thanksgiving Day. Patrons should check the course website (https://airportgolfclub.com/) for more information.
