City announces sanitation and facility schedule for Juneteenth 2026

Several City facilities and offices will have modified schedules for Juneteenth on Friday, June 19.

City Offices

City offices will be closed Friday, June 19.

 

Sanitation/Trash, Recycling, and Yard Waste Schedule

There will be no changes to residential trash, recycle, or yard waste pickups this week.

There will also be no changes to commercial pickups on Friday, June 19, but pickups scheduled for Saturday, June 20, will be collected on Friday.

The Solid Waste Transfer Station and Household Hazardous Waste (220 N. College Drive) will be open Friday, June 19, but close Saturday, June 20.

The Compost Facility (3714 Windmill Road) will be closed Friday, June 19, and reopen Saturday, June 20.

The Happy Jack Landfill will be closed Friday, June 19, and reopen Monday, June 22.

The Sanitation Division office will be closed Friday in line with other City offices.

Residents should remember to keep recycling unbagged, break down boxes cut to 2’ by 2’, and bag all trash to prevent it blowing out of containers and the landfill.

 

Cheyenne Transit Program

Cheyenne Transit Program offices will be closed Friday, June 19. Buses will not run.

 

Cheyenne Botanic Gardens

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens Grand Conservatory and the Paul Smith Children’s Village will be closed Friday, June 19. Patrons should visit www.botanic.org for more information.

 

Cheyenne Aquatic Center

The Cheyenne Aquatic Center will be open. Patrons should check the Aquatic Center website (www.cheyenneaquatics.com) for more information.

 

BEAST Facility

The BEAST Facility will be closed. Patrons should check the Cheyenne Recreation Division’s website (cheyennerecreation.org/beast) for more information.

 

Cheyenne Ice & Events Center

The Cheyenne Ice and Events Center will be open. Patrons should check the Ice and Events Center website (www.cheyenneiceandevents.com) for public skating and other scheduled events.

 

City Golf Courses

The Airport Golf Course and Kingham Prairie View Golf Course will be open. Patrons should check the course website (https://airportgolfclub.com/) for more information.
