City announces sanitation, facility schedule for Christmas, New Year's

Several City facilities and offices will have modified schedules for the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.
City Offices
City offices will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Dec. 24 and 25. Offices will close Dec. 31 at noon and remain closed New Year’s Day.
Sanitation/Trash and Recycling Schedule
On Christmas Day, residential trash and recycling pickups that are typically scheduled for Thursday will move to Friday, Dec. 26. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday pickups will remain as scheduled.
On New Year’s Day, residential trash and recycling pickups that are typically scheduled for Thursday will move to Friday, Jan. 2. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday pickups will remain as scheduled.
The Solid Waste Transfer Station (220 N. College Drive), Happy Jack Landfill, Compost Facility (3714 Windmill Road), and Household Hazardous Waste (220 N. College Drive) will be closed on Christmas and reopen Friday, Dec. 26. These facilities will also be closed at Noon on New Year's Eve and New Year’s Day and reopen Friday, Jan. 2.
The Sanitation Division office will be closed in line with other City offices.
Residents should remember to keep recycling unbagged; break down boxes cut to 2’ by 2’; bag all trash to prevent it blowing out of containers and the landfill; and to not place branches, bags, or tumbleweeds in yard waste containers.
Cheyenne Transit Program
Cheyenne Transit Program offices will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as well as New Year’s Eve after noon and New Year’s Day. Buses will not run.
Cheyenne Botanic Gardens
The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens Grand Conservatory and the Paul Smith Children’s Village will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. The Garden’s regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cheyenne Aquatic Center
The Cheyenne Aquatic Center will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The facility will also close New Year’s Eve at 5 p.m. and remain closed through New Year’s Day. Patrons should check the Aquatic Center website (www.cheyenneaquatics.com) for more information.
BEAST Facility
The BEAST Facility will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Friday, Dec. 26. The facility will also be closed on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Patrons should check the Cheyenne Rec website (https://cheyennerecreation.org/beast) for more information.
Cheyenne Ice & Events Center
The Cheyenne Ice and Events Center will close at 4 p.m. Christmas Eve and remain closed Christmas Day. The facility will also be closed on New Year’s Day. Patrons should check the Ice and Events Center website (www.cheyenneiceandevents.com) for public skating and other scheduled events.
City Golf Courses
The Airport Golf Course and Kingham Prairie View Golf Course will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Patrons should check the course website (https://airportgolfclub.com/) for more information.
