The Cheyenne Gymnastics Team swept the competition for the second consecutive year by winning first place team awards for USA Gymnastics Xcel Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels at the 2024 Wyoming State Gymnastics Competition held in Lander on March 22-23. They competed against 13 other teams from across the state, totaling more than 350 athletes.

The Cheyenne Gymnastics Bronze team, of 15 athletes, earned a total of 12 individual first place finishes with Taya Thompson in the Junior C age group and Reese Gray in the Senior B age group taking home the All-Around gold medals in their age groups.

The Silver team, of 16 gymnasts, earned 18 individual first place wins with All-Around firsts earned by Kinley Mikowski in the Junior B age group, Finley Cralley in the Junior C age group, Payton Hoard in the Senior B age group, and Kaleia Kling in the Senior C age group.

There were 9 gymnasts representing Cheyenne Gymnastics’ Gold team, winning a total of 13 individual first place titles. D’Saitrya Woody in the Junior A age group and Aviah Edwards in the Senior B age group both earned the gold medals for their All-Around finishes. Cheyenne Gymnastics also brought two Xcel Diamond and one Xcel Sapphire gymnasts, not having enough athletes in those level to qualify for team awards. Hannah Pollock, Diamond, and Ciarra Vigil, Sapphire, took home first place All-Around gold for their levels.

Based on the results of the State Championship, 10 gymnasts will move on to compete against the top gymnasts from Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming at the Region 3 Championships. Aviah Edwards, Lola Hickox, Jadyn Martin, Michayla Maxey, Zoey Salas, Charlie Soules, Addison Walters, and D’Saitrya Woody will represent Cheyenne Gymnastics at the Xcel Gold Regional Championship in Aurora, Colorado, on May 3-5, 2024. Bridget Dillow and Hannah Pollock will represent Cheyenne Gymnastics at the Xcel Diamond Regional Championship in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 26-28, 2024.
