Cheyenne Greenway Foundation seeking board members and supporters
Published on January 06, 2026
The Cheyenne Greenway Foundation is seeking new board members and volunteers who share a passion for the Greater Cheyenne Greenway and can give a few hours each month to support fundraising and advocacy.
Founded in 2008, the Foundation is a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to supporting Cheyenne Greenway users. The Foundation’s work is fully funded by donations, helping raise awareness, encourage use, and improve amenities through campaigns like Spring into Green and Thankful Thursday. Recent projects have included wayfinding signage and the Foundation is now focused on funding public art along the Greenway.
The Foundation is also seeking sponsors and donations for a Thankful Thursday event on Thursday, April 2, 2026. During Thankful Thursday, items will be auctioned off to support the Foundation’s work. Items featured last year included bikes and bike accessories, passes to local events, gift certificates to local restaurants and other businesses, gift baskets, and much more.
To learn how to get involved in the Foundation’s work, including membership on the Foundation board and sponsorship or donation opportunities, contact Nancy Olson at 719-337-4141 or cheyennegreenwayfoundation@gmail.com.
The Cheyenne Greenway Foundation would like to thank residents of Cheyenne and Laramie County for their continuing support of the Greater Cheyenne Greenway. The Foundation also wants to give special thanks to the steadfast sponsors of Spring into Green, the 5K Fun Run/Walk event held annually on the second Saturday of June for the previous 17 years: the Wyoming Department of Transportation, First Interstate Bank, the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation, WYHY Credit Union, Theena Engineering, Foot of the Rockies, Jonah Bank, Biolife Plasma, Blue Cross | Blue Shield, and Blue FCU. Without these generous organizations, this fundraising event would not be possible.
