Bike to Work Day events, a poker run, and family-friendly Slow Roll rides are all on the calendar as Cheyenne Bike Week begins this weekend.

Events are free and open to anyone who wants to grab a bike and explore Cheyenne on two wheels!

Poker Run – Saturday, June 20, to Wednesday, June 24

The City's Active Transportation Advisory Committee is organizing a bike poker run from Saturday, June 20, through Bike to Work Day on June 24.

Participants will visit any of nine businesses or organizations (traveling by bike!) to choose a playing card from a deck. That card can then be used to create a poker hand that will be submitted at 6 p.m. at the Bike to Work Day after work event on June 24. The player with the best poker hand will win a prize!

Information and a downloadable poker run sheet are available at www.cheyennecity.org/bikeweek.

Poker Run card locations are: the Laramie County Library - Card & Account Desk (2200 Pioneer Ave.), Freedom's Edge Brewing (1509 Pioneer Ave.), Board of Public Utilities - Customer Service Desk (2416 Snyder Ave.), Rock on Wheels (900 E. Lincolnway), Black Tooth Brewing (520 W. 19th St.), Wagonhound Winery (1610 Capitol Ave.), Visit Cheyenne - Main Floor Info Kiosk (121 W. 15th St.), Barrett Creek Coffee (121 W. 15th St.), and Blue Raven Brewing (209 E. 18th St.).

Bike to Work Day – Wednesday, June 24

Bike to Work Day is an annual event that celebrates active ways of getting to work and around town. Participants don’t need to be traveling to work specifically to take part.

Breakfast Stations

Local businesses and organizations are hosting free breakfast stations for cyclists in Cheyenne: Blue FCU’s 7th Avenue branch, Paris West, Omelet House, Western Vista FCU & Ranch Eats, Paramount Café, and the Laramie County Library.

Most breakfast stations will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and additional details about each location are available at www.cheyennecity.org/BTWD.

After-Work Event

Freedom’s Edge Brewing will host an after-work event on Pioneer Avenue from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with food trucks and music. Poker run participants will also turn in their chosen hands at this event.

Slow Roll Group Rides

The Cheyenne Slow Roll group will hold two family-friendly group rides during Bike Week.

The first is the group’s regular Wednesday ride, which will depart from the Bike to Work Day after work event at 6:05 p.m.

The second will be a group ride from the annual Superday event on Saturday, June 27. The ride will begin at 10 a.m. from the North Shelter at Lions Park.
