Cheyenne Fire Rescue (CFR) is continuing its investigation into the structure fire that occurred at 2505 E. Carlson St. To ensure a thorough and comprehensive review, CFR is being assisted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) National Response Team.

"CFR is grateful for the opportunity to partner with the ATF National Response Team on this fire investigation,” Fire Chief Andrew Dykshorn said. “Our fire investigators will work side by side with the subject-matter experts in each discipline within the ATF National Response Team. These resources will help our community get clear answers about what happened in this incident."

The ATF assists local agencies with incidents all across the country with large apartment complexes such as this. They assist with witness interviews, searching through rubble from the fire, and documenting the entire process. The collaborative investigation aims to determine the cause and origin of the fire and to gather all relevant information in a systematic and timely manner. CFR and ATF personnel remain on scene as investigative efforts progress.

Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
