A stray cat that managed to find its way into the walls of a Cheyenne home was rescued by Cheyenne and Laramie County Animal Control officers over the weekend.
On Sunday, March 17, Animal Control received a call for a cat that had run into a resident’s home, climbed under a set of stairs in an unfinished basement, and would not come out. Officer Kisiel decided to set a humane live trap overnight in hopes of luring the cat out of his hiding spot.
But the cat wasn’t done exploring.
Overnight and into Monday, March 18, the cat managed to climb further into the home’s wall, getting stuck in the process. With permission from the homeowner and assistance from the City’s safety officer, Officers Kisiel and Wagner were able to cut a hole in the wall and safely remove the cat.
The cat is currently on a stray hold at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. For animal-related issues in Cheyenne and Laramie County, call Animal Control at 307-632-6655.
