Curbside Collection - Recyclables

The City of Cheyenne provides bi-weekly recycling service to all city residents.

 

 

 

 

 

 

What materials are allowed in my recycle container?

Recyclables must be dry, loose (not bagged) and include ONLY the following: 

  • Paper products: newspapers, books, junk mail, magazines, etc. 
  • Brown paper bags
  • Clean cardboard (flatten & cut into 2'x2' pieces or smaller)
  • Cereal Boxes
  • Aluminum foil or tin cans - empty
  • Plastic containers (#1, #2, #4 & #5)
  • Glass food and beverage containers - brown, clear, or green - empty

 

What materials are NOT allowed in my recycle container?

Non-recyclables including, but not limited to the following: 

  • Plastic bags and bagged materials (even if containing recyclables)
  • Window envelopes
  • Mirrors 
  • Plexi-glass, flower pots, plastic totes
  • Garbage
  • Styrofoam
  • Glass & metal cookware/bakeware  
  • Light Blubs
  • Ceramics
  • Straws or fast food packaging
  • Porcelains and ceramics
  • Hoses, cords, wires
  • Flexible plastics or film packaging and multi-laminated materials
  • Food waste & liquids, containers containing such items
  • Window or auto glass
  • Coated cardboard (ex. juice boxes)
  • Plastics #3, #6, #7 and unnumbered 
  • Coat Hangers 
  • Household appliances and electronics 
  • Yard waste, construction debris, and wood 
  • To-go boxes (even though they have a #5 on them) 
  • Needles, syringes, IV bags or other medical supplies
  • Textiles, cloth, or any fabrics
  • Napkins, paper towels, tissues, paper plates, paper cups, and plastic utensils
  • Propane tanks, batteries
