Did you know that over 2.5 million tons of hazardous materials are shipped every year by highway, rail, water, air, pipeline, and mail?
On July 12th, the City of Cheyenne was notified that they will receive a Plains All American First Responder Grant to purchase a large scale spill response trailer and equipment to better allow CFR to respond to and contain large scale hazardous spills involving highway tankers, rail cars, or at a fixed facility, something that has been a challenge in the past. The trailer, equipment, and supplies will be completely funded through this grant for almost $20,000 and can be shared with Laramie County First Responders.
The Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. strives to live by core values of safety, accountability, ethics and integrity, respect, and fairness. One of the ways they demonstrate their commitment to these values is to be a good neighbor and provide grant funding for local first responder communities in their jurisdiction. They fund projects that have a lasting and measurable impact to the community and directly benefit the safety and preparedness of first responders.
