Disposable wipes

Flushing wipes increases maintenance costs and causes sewer backups. Please don't flush wipes.

Flushed disposable wipes, diapers, feminine products and paper towels plug sewer lines. These products are designed to work when wet so they don't dissolve in sewers like toilet paper. Consequently, they can plug sewer lines.

Put it to the test

If you are not sure if it is flushable, check. Here is how...
  • Place a clean (unused) sheet of the product in a bowl of water.
  • Wait a couple of minutes.
  • If the product breaks down or dissolves, its flushable.
  • If it doesn't, it can plug your sewer line. Throw it in the trash.
