The Greater Cheyenne Greenway is a system of paths that serve as a gateway to the parks and neighborhoods of the community. The Greenway:

  • Provides areas for recreation
  • Acts as an alternate transportation route

Award Winning Fun
The Greater Cheyenne Greenway has been recognized as an award-winning project. In 1996, as a direct result of the Greenway, Cheyenne was named a "Trail Town USA” by the National Park Service and the American Hiking Society.

In 1997, the Dry Creek Greenway section was given an award of excellence for best Portland cement recreation trail in a six state area. This award was given by the Region 8 Federal Highway Administration.

In 1998, the City of Cheyenne was given an award by the Wyoming Association of Municipalities, signed by the Governor, for its successful Greenway project.
