PROFILE
Our primary
customers are the citizens of Cheyenne. The Development Office handles all matters related to land use. This
work includes annexations, platting, site plan approval, special use permits, subdivision
permits, variances, vacations and zone changes. The Office also supports relevant boards,
committees and commissions while enforcing the zoning laws in the field. The City of
Cheyenne Zoning Ordinance may be obtained, for a fee, by contacting the Development
Department at (307)637-6282 or at the Municipal Building, Room 202.

Development Applications
PROGRAM ACTIVITIES
The major activity of this division is assisting in the orderly and safe development of
the land in Cheyenne and Laramie County.
PRIMARY DUTIES
 | Accept and process all applications for land use.

 | Ensure decisions of the administration and governing bodies are adhered to by
developers.
|
 | Inspect and issue violation notices for violations of the zoning ordinance where
necessary.
|
 | Support the City Council, County Commissioners, Planning Commission, and Board of
Adjustment.
|
 | Assist the County Planner, as requested, in all aspects of planning. |
SECONDARY DUTIES
 | Collect and distribute development data.
|
 | Assist other City and County agencies in research of properties. |
