May I bring household hazardous waste out any time?
No, you must make an appointment by calling our office at (307) 637-6440. These items may be dropped off on Saturdays from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.

How do I dispose of latex paint?
Latex paint is not considered a hazardous waste. It is water soluble. Dry it out, leave the lid off the can and throw away with regular trash.

May I bring household hazardous waste out any time?
No, you must make an appointment by calling our office at (307) 637-6440. These items may be dropped off on Saturdays from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.

What is accepted as hazardous waste?
We accept pesticides and herbicides; toxics and poisons; used motor oil and antifreeze auto and other batteries; fuels, solvents, and flammables; cleaners and corrosives;
oil based paints (no latex).

When is the landfill open?
If the wind reaches 30 mph at the Landfill, in accordance with DEQ Guidelines, the Landfill will close down. If the wind remains under 30 mph for more than 1 hour, they will re-open.
5.
Do I need to cover or secure my load to take to the landfill?
Yes, it needs to be covered with a tarp or tied down.
6.
May I drop off shredded paper for recycling?
At this time we do not have recycling for shredded paper.
7.
Are telephone books accepted for recycling?
Yes, telephone books may go with the newspapers and magazines in the recyle bins.

Are plastics accepted for recycling?
#1 and #2 plastics are accepted at the K-Mart location at 1840 Dell Range Blvd. #2 plastic is milk jugs or similar plastics of a milky, semi-transparent consistency. Please remove caps and rings.

What type of compost products are available to purchase?
Buffalo Chip Compost, EcoGro, Evergreen Compost, Natural Cover Mulch, Double Grind Mulch, Screened Topsoil, Prepared Topsoil, Double Take Wood Mulch.

I have extra/bulky items that need picked up, how do I go about that?
Call the Sanitation Division at (307)637-6440 to arrange this service. There is a fee for this service depending on the items to picked up. Please see web page.

What is the Transfer Station dumping hours?
Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 2:30 pm
Sat. 6:30 am – 9:00 am.
