Value is placed on building a sense of community. Offices work closely with developers to help plan new projects, and continue to partner with the Downtown Development Authority to identify resources and assist with urban design projects.

The Planning Office researches the strategies that work best for today’s down towns and apply what fits best for Cheyenne.

Projects in the planning phases that Planning Services has helped to facilitate to develop Downtown Cheyenne as a destination include:
  • Carey Avenue Extension and Streetscape Enhancements
  • New Downtown Parking Lot
  • Streetscape Design Handbook
  • I-180 viaduct pedestrian fence approved for safety and to create a welcoming gateway into downtown
