For your convenience, the Board of Public Utilities (BOPU) can set up a consistent average bill so you know month to month how much your water and sewer bill will be.
In order to participate in budget billing, you must have had an account with the BOPU in good standing for 12 months or longer. This allows staff to estimate an average bill based on your historic consumption. Each April, the BOPU will settle up any differences between what was paid and what was used. If, throughout the year, you paid for more than what you used, your bill in April will be less. If you paid for less than what was used, your bill in April will be higher than the other months.
